SPARTANBURG, S.C. β A pedestrian attempting to cross a street was struck and killed in Spartanburg County on Friday night, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Police say a 2007 Mercury SUV was traveling south on Skylyn Drive near Dillon Drive approximately one half mile north of Spartanburg. At the same time, authorities say a pedestrian was walking east, attempting to cross Skylyn Drive when they were struck by the Mercury vehicle.
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries while the Mercury driver was left uninjured. Police say the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The accident occurred at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Friday, November 10th.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol are still investigating this incident. The names involved have not been released yet.
