Stallings Mayor On Sinkholes: “I Promise You…We Will Try To Find A Solution”
STALLINGS, N.C. – An update to a story you saw first on WCCB News @ Ten about sinkholes in Stallings. Homeowners in the Stone Creek Townhomes neighborhood tell us that crews from Ryan Homes will be back on site on Wednesday, working to figure out what is causing sinkholes to open up in their yards, under their sidewalks and near their steps.
On Monday night, neighbors, including Anna Gaddy, told Stallings Town Council about their concerns. Afterward, Mayor Wyatt Dunn told the residents, “Ryan Homes wants to build more properties in Stallings and they’re gonna wanna make the town happy. And making the town happy makes y’all happy. And certainly this is the biggest investment you make in your life, is your home, and I agree with you Ms. Gaddy, your home should be your sanctuary. I promise you the town will be the facilitator in this, we will try to find a solution.”
Neighbors tell us landscapers filled in some of the sinkholes, again, on Monday. They’ve done that before, and it hasn’t worked.
