Healthy Headlines: Pelvic Health

CHARLOTTE, NC — Because of the sensitive nature of many pelvic conditions, pelvic health and pelvic therapy are largely misunderstood and the associated issues often go untreated. These conditions include stressful, disruptive, and often painful issues related to the bladder, bowel, and reproductive (sexual) systems. Pain associated with intercourse for all genders can also be related to pelvic floor dysfunction. People can have nerve or joint pain that prevents them from sitting, driving, walking, or sleeping.

Our guest for this week’s Healthy Headlines is Sandra LaComa, a physical therapist with Novant Health Rehabilitation Center – at the Pelvic Health Center in Winston-Salem. Sandra has more than 25 years of experience working with pelvic rehabilitation. She focuses on treating patients—both men and women—with pelvic and gynecological pain. She can successfully help with most bowel and bladder concerns as well.
