Target Testing Changes To Self-Checkout Lines

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Target shoppers may have noticed some recent changes near checkout, as the store is restricting the number of items allowed in order to use the self-checkout lines.

The store says they are limiting the number of items to 10 or less to use self checkout.

This policy is already in place at select stores, including the Northlake Mall location. If shoppers have 10 or more items, they will need to use the full service lanes with cashiers.

Many grocery stores have a similar policy of limiting items in express checkout lines.

Target says this new policy is designed to shorten wait times.
