CHARLOTTE, NC – Officers arrived to 9335 N Tryon St. shortly before 5:30 p.m. to find a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. CMPD told WCCB, that the incident is accidental.
The man shot himself in his hip while in his car outside of a popular shopping center right across the street from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
The man was transported to Carolinas Medical Center.
Initially the injuries were considered to be life threatening, but CMPD later confirmed that the victim’s injuries are non-life threatening.
The investigation is still ongoing.
