Report: Panthers’ Short skipped Last Week’s OTAs

Panthers Kawann Short

CHARLOTTE, NC (WCCB Charlotte) — Locking up defensive tackle Kawann Short is a priority for the Panthers. As contract talks continue, Short has reportedly decided to skip three voluntary OTA (organized-team-activity) sessions last week.

The news was reported by Black and Blue Review. The website report, citing a source, says that Short is not expected to attend this week’s OTAs or next week’s mandatory mini-camp.

Short is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is due a base salary of $1.036 million. Last year, Short set a Panthers franchise record for a defensive tackle with 11-sacks.

The Panthers continue to get their house in order as the team announced the signing of center Ryan Kalil to a two-year extension on Monday afternoon.
