Trailer Carrying Bees Overturns On I-85
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — AΒ trailer carrying bees overturned on I-85 northbound in Charlotte near the Gaston-Mecklenburg County line.
The trailer overturned at mile marker 28, near the weigh station at the Catawba River.
Officials say there were about 400 hives on truck, with 30,000 bees in each hive. The driver was heading to New York from Florida forΒ pollination season.
Beekeeper says they were able to remove the bees by spraying water on them.Β All lanes have now reopened.
