One In Custody After Shooting At Police In North Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have arrested the person they say shot at them Thursday evening during a brief chase.Jeremy Moody

Police arrested 22-year-old Jeremy Moody after they say he ran from and shot at police during a traffic stop around 7:30pm Thursday on Oaklawn Avenue at Rising Oak Drive.

Police say Moody tried to flee in his vehicle but hit a light pole, and took off on foot. Moody fired one shot at police when he fled the vehicle but officers did not fire back and no one was injured.

After a brief foot chase Moody was arrested.

Moody was charged with Felony Flee to Elude, two counts of Assault on a Government Official, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Shooting within the City Limits, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Driving While License Revoked, Resisting Arrest, Felony Hit and Run, and Stop Sign Violation.

A passenger in the vehicle, 23-year-old Daniel Thomas, was also arrested on an unrelated warrant for child support, and another was taken to CMC with non-life threatening injuries.daniel thomas
