Surveillance Video Shows Last Moments Of Charlotte Man’s Life, CMPD Asking For Public’s Help Solving Murder

CHARLOTTE — CMPD has released surveillance video showing the last moments of a Charlotte man’s life.  Eric Behrends stopped by the 7-11 on South Tryon Street back on September 22, 2022.  Minutes later, as he walked to his apartment complex, someone shot and killed him.

“This is the second Christmas he’s not around.  I pull out ornaments and I have memories of all my kids, and I can’t call him and say ‘remember when’,” says Teresa Behrends, Eric’s mother.

His family says Eric was funny, loved video games, and was an excellent cook.  They say he had dreams of owning his own restaurant.
