Authorities say they plan to arrest someone in the next day or so who may have helped Mateen plan the attack at Orlando’s Pulse Nightclub. It’s not clear if that person is somewhere in Florida.
The FBI believes Omar Mateen was self-radicalized and not directed by any terror group. He did pledge loyalty to ISIS and support for the Boston Bombers during the attack.
Meanwhile, hundreds gathered in Orlando tonight to remember the 49 victims who were gunned down. 48 have been identified so far.
Charlotte’s LGBT chamber of commerce also hosted a vigil for the victims.
