Popular Charlotte Businessman Opens New Barber Academy Near Uptown
CHARLOTTE — Lucky Spot Barbershop is expanding yet again. Owner Shaun Corbett announced he recently opened a new barber school, Lucky Spot Leadership & Barber Academy.
In 2020, Corbett made history, becoming the first African American owned and operated barbershop in Walmart stores. He’s now preparing to open his 10th location in South Charlotte.
Now, Corbett is taking on the role of instructor. He began teaching classes at his new barber school on December 11, with almost 10 students enrolled in the program – ranging in age from 17 to 52 years old. He says the goal is to empower others to become successful leaders and business owners.
