NC DOT Proposes Direct Access Ramps

CHARLOTTE, NC– NC DOT wants to know what you think about a proposal for direct access ramps to the toll lanes.

The proposed ramps will be from Lakeview Road in North Charlotte and Hanbright Road in Huntersville. Locals in both areas say the idea could help get rid of traffic congestion.

“I think it’s great. You can’t stop development. It’s needed…They have a quick access to get in and out quickly.” said North Charlotte resident Leroy Sellers.

Just recently,  the House passed a Bill that would stop toll lane construction by September First.  The State Transportation Secretary says it would cost 300 Million Dollars to end the contract with Cintra, and 500 Million Dollars to complete the project.
