The York County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 55-year-old Deborah Adkins of McConnells.
The accident is still under investigation. A toxicology test is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
YORK, SC — One person is dead after troopers say they hit a tree and flipped Monday evening in York County.
The accident happened around 7pm Monday on Highway 324 just south of York.
Officials say the driver of a 2003 Honda sedan ran off the right side of the road, hit a tree, and flipped. The driver was wearing a seatbelt, but was pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators have not said what caused the driver to run off the road. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
