Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Animal Care & Control’s (ACC) 1st Pets and Wellness Fair will take place in conjunction with the monthly Rabies & Microchip Clinic on Saturday, July 9, 2016. (Takes place in the front lawn of the shelter)
- A built in, captive audience of approximate 200 pet owners attend the clinic each month.
- The primary overall focus for the 1st ACC PAW Fair will be Heartworm Prevention Education. Secondarily we will be adding rabies awareness and the importance of keeping the rabies vaccination current, what to do if your pet is exposed to wildlife and the rabies laws.
- A platform to share important pet health and wellness tips from your organization/buisness to pet owners. 10X10 tent space offered for free for veterinarians, clinics, pet health related buisnesses.
- Merck Animal Health is sponsoring breakfast and coffee as well as a gift basket to raffle – everyone who gets their pet a FREE rabies vaccination is eligible to win!
ACC has teamed up with WCCB to promote the Pit Pass II Campaign, which promotes the adoption of heartworm positive Pit Bulls as well as educated about heartworm cause and prevention. ACC will be on a live news segment to discuss heartworm issues in this region and to promote the event.
