CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police identified a 16-year-old juvenile as the suspect related to the north Charlotte homicide that occurred Thursday night.
Authorities say the suspect turned themselves in at the scene. He has been placed in a Juvenile Detention Facility in Cabarrus County and has been charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Ganiyu Ibrahim, 54, has been identified as the victim.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police have arrested one person following a homicide in north Charlotte that left one person dead, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Shortly after 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 4th, officers responded to a call regarding an assault that took place along Swearngan Road.
Upon arrival, officers say they located a victim, who was later pronounced dead at the scene by Medic.
Police say they arrested someone on scene and are not currently looking for other suspects.
