RIDGEWAY, S.C. βΒ One person died and two others were sent to the hospital following a head-on, three-vehicle accident on Interstate 77 on Saturday night.
The crash occurred on I-77 north near mile marker 30 at approximately 9:10 p.m. on Saturday, January 6th.
Police say a 2020 Ford SUV was allegedly traveling south in the I-77 northbound lanes. The driver struck a 2018 Toyota van and a 2016 Audi sedan head-on.
The Ford driver died as a result of their injuries.
Medical personnel transported the driver and passenger in the Toyota van to a local hospital.Β The driver and four additional passengers in the Audi vehicle were not injured.
This collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
