CMPD To Hold Active Shooter Training For CLT Bars And Nightclubs

CHARLOTTE, NC– In the wake of the Orlando shooting at pulse nightclub that left 49 people dead, CMPD is getting the community involved in active shooter training.

Next week the Department’s Crime Prevention and ABC Units will hold an active survival training for Charlotte bars and nightclubs. Chief Vicki Foster says the training will help people prepare for several different types of scenarios.

“Each situation is different. It all depends sometimes it’s appropriate to stay where you are and barricade yourself in. Sometimes it’s more important to run,” says Chief Foster.

The training will take place Tuesday from 10 AM until Noon at the Police and Fire Training Academy.
