MONROE, NC — Police and SBI officials are investigating after a man was found shot to death outside of a motel late Tuesday night.
Investigators say 39-year-old Danny McGriff, Jr. of Lancaster was found dead in the walkway of the Relax Inn on W. Roosevelt Boulevard around 11:20pm Tuesday. Officers found McGriff with a gunshot wound to his chest after responding to a shooting call.
Detectives with Monroe Police Department are working with the State Bureau of Investigation and the Union County District Attorney’s Office to investigate the case.
