500+ East Charlotte Residents Without Power

CHARLOTTE, NC — Over 500 people are waking up without power this morning after a fallen tree takes down some power lines.

Duke Energy crews are working to remove the tree that fell on Lakeside Drive just north of Robinson Church in east Charlotte. Crews say the power should be restored by 11am.

The area is blocked as crews work to remove the tree and repair lines. There are no traffic issues right now, but commuters may Linda Lane Drive as an alternate route.
