CMS Moving Forward With First Phase Of Student Assignment

CHARLOTTE, NC– Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools is moving forward with Phase One of Student Assignment.

With parents input a priority, the district announced public meetings for this year on the controversial plan.  Right now, school board members are focusing on magnet programs and how to reduce the high concentration of students living in poverty.

We caught up with Superintendent Ann Clark. She say she’s looking forward to getting the ball rolling on training a new candidate because of the critical issues at hand.

“When I accepted this opportunity to be Superintendent last January I said the current chair and vice chair how critical I thought a solid transition was given my tenure in the district,” said Clark.

Clark also say parents attending community engagement sessions this year is essential in moving forward with the district’s Student Assignment review.
