Owner Of Horse Killed By Stray Bullet Pushes For Stricter Ordinance
UNION COUNTY, NC– The owner of a horse that was shot and killed in its monroe pasture is fighting to make sure that never happens again.
Joby the horse was hit by a stray bullet, fired from a neighbor’s property. Susanne Wright spoke to the Union County Commissioners tonight.
She’s pushing for ordinance that would make the shooter responsible for where the bullet ends up.
“Anybody can go out and shoot a gun over anybody’s property or into anybody’s land and nothing is done. There is now law to protect the citizens of Union County for that,” said Wright.
Similar ordinances already exist in Mecklenburg and Wake Counties.
