CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Pride Festival and Parade has been declared an extraordinary event by Interim City Manager Ron Kimble.
The event will take place on August 20th and 21st, 2016, in Uptown Charlotte.
Per the city of Charlotte:
“An Extraordinary Event is defined as a large-scale event or an event of national or international significance which might attract a significant number of people to a certain geographic area of the city. The city manager, in collaboration with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, have determined this event meets the criteria as defined in Charlotte City Code Sec. 15-310.”
Charlotte Pride is an organization that seeks to empower the LGBTQ community through programs and activities in the Charlotte and the Carolinas.
