Roy Cooper Won’t Appeal Federal Ruling On NC Voter ID Law

RALEIGH, NC– Governor Pat McCrory plans to defend North Carolina’s Voter ID Law and lashed out at Roy Cooper’s for refusing to “Do his job.”

The law requiring a photo ID to vote was struck down by Federal Appeals Judges last week.  The Attorney General’s office confirmed its lawyers won’t keep appealing.

“I question whether he should even accept a pay check from the state of North Carolina because he continues to not do his job as his oath of office requires him to do,” said Governor McCrory.

Cooper is challenging McCrory for Governor. The Attorney General has said he would have vetoed the voting changes but his office could still defend laws he opposed personally.
