Crest High School Secretary Charged With Having Sexual Relations With Students

CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — A school secretary is facing charges of having sexual relations with two students at Crest High School.

The investigation began when a student’s mother called deputies saying multiple people had called her congratulating her for being a grandmother.  The mother stated that she had previously noticed cell phone pictures and text messages from school secretary Laura Bowling to her son’s phone that she felt was inappropriate.

Laura BowlingDeputies say Bowling admitted to having a sexual relationship with the student for two months.  During the investigation, officials say they also determined Bowling had a second sexual relationship with a different student who also attended Crest High School.

Bowling has been charged with five counts of sexual activity with a student.
