YORK, SC — Police have arrested a man in York County they say forced his girlfriend’s children to have sex with each other and gave them marijuana to smoke.
York Police say a referral came in from the S.C. Department of Social Services on August 6th claiming that 23-year-old Dontavious Byers had been forcing his girlfriend’s 6, 8, and 9-year-old children to perform sex acts on each other. The claim also alleged that Byers was giving the children marijuana and making them smoke it.
An investigation by York Police detectives confirmed the allegations, and warrants were issued for Byers’ arrest.
York Police and York County Sheriff’s Deputies found Byers hiding in a closet inside a home at 76 Pinkney Street in York. He was arrested and charged with three counts of Engaging a Child for Sexual Performance (under 18 years of age), three counts of Criminal Solicitation of a Minor (under 18), and one count of Disseminating Obscene Material to a Minor Twelves Years of Age or Younger.
