Local And State Leaders Tour Washed Out Culvert
LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. – Local families are stranded following Tuesday’s severe storm that poured five inches of rain in Lincoln County.
State Senator Ted Alexander and Commissioner Bud Cesena traveled to the area, toured the community and spoke with the people living here.
Since Tuesday, citizens have been left stranded after five inches of rain fell in Lincoln County, washing away a culvert and leaving behind a massive hole.
Lincoln County’s Emergency Management Team worked to install a temporary footbridge, but there was no way for citizens to drive in and out of the neighborhood.
Many families were forced to walk for miles to get to work and for food.
Crew members worked on Friday to clear a side road so people can drive their vehicles through.
