CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte Fire officials say that their retired ATF Accelerant Detection K9 “Titan” has passed away. 
Titan passed away Monday morning after fighting with cancer, according to a release.
Officials remember Titan as a beloved and valued member of the Charlotte Fire Department. He assisted in fire investigations for ATF and surrounding counties, and was instrumental in confirming and convicting many suspects involved in arson cases throughout his career.
Titan also helped with fire and arson prevention programs throughout the Charlotte area. Officials say he has done demonstrations for over 20,000 residents in our area, and was loved by adults and children alike.
The Charlotte Fire Department says Titan was a part of the family will be greatly missed by all including his handler, Charlotte Fire Investigator Dewayne Davis.
