CHARLOTTE, NC — A large water main break has shut down Lancaster Highway at Lullingstone Road just north of Ballantyne Commons Parkway.
Crews reported water shooting out of the main as high as 40 feet in the air. The water has been shut off, and crews are working to repair the line.
Charlotte Water says water service has been shut off to the following areas during repairs:
Lullingstone, Buxton, Tweedsmuir, Eggleston, Heinsbury Apple Orchard, Buck Creek, and Windom Hollow Downs Apartments.
Say water could be off for at least six hours.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes.
