GASTONIA,NC– An HIV positive man in Gastonia is charged with raping a woman after she passed out from a seizure.
Jacobus Vermeulen is accused of raping the Kannapolis woman on New Year’s day.
The District Attorney says Vermeulen’s HIV status may lead to a tougher punishment if he’s convicted.
