Woman Facing Murder Charge After Fatal Wreck In Southwest Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have officially charged a woman with second degree murder after a fatal wreck in southwest Charlotte.
Investigators say Kelly Conkin crashed into a vehicle around 2am on August 20th on South Tryon Street near Moss Road.
Police say Conkin was driving under the influence when the crash happened. Cecilia Gonzalez was killed in the accident. She was a passenger in the vehicle that Conkin is accused of hitting.
Several other people were seriously injured in the accident. Conkin was released from the hospital on August 29th. She is being charged with 2nd degree murder, felony death by motor vehicle, felony serious injury by motor vehicle, reckless driving and possession of marijuana.
