Officials Find Body Of Worker Who Fell In The Catawba River Overnight

[UPDATE]

Officials say they have located the body of 28-year-old Filigonio Bravo.

According to co-workers, Bravo was setting up fencing to paint the 127 bridge over the Catawba River when he fell in overnight. Bravo had removed his safety harness to move some of the fencing. Before he could rehook his harness the fence slipped and Bravo fell in.

Witnesses say a friend jumped in after Bravo but was unable to save him.

Friends and co-workers say Bravo has been doing bridge repairs for three years. They say he was a man who worked hard to help family in Guatemala.
