CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Old Pineville Road in south Charlotte has closed in both directions due to downed power lines lying in the road.
The downed power lines are at Old Pineville Road and Silverleaf Road near Archdale Road. CMPD sent an alert about the road closure at 3:17 a.m. Police ask drivers to take alternate routes at this time.
Duke Energy said the outage was caused by a vehicle damaging the equipment.
There are nearly 650 Duke Energy customers without power in the area. The outage was first reported around 2:10 a.m.
Power is expected to be restored around 4 p.m., Duke Energy said.
