Dave Canales Has Been Hired As The Carolina Panthers New Head Coach

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers have hired Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator Dave Canales as their new head coach, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The decision came after Frank Reich was fired in November 2023. Canales served as coach for the Seattle Seahawks from 2010-2017, winning his first Super Bowl title when the Seahawks defeated the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Canales spent a total of 13 years with the Seahawks, until his recent transition to offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in February of 2023.

Canales will take on the roll of head coach replacing interim coach Chris Tabor.

When WCCB asked about the reports that the Panthers hired Canales as the new head coach, a league source said, “Can confirm we are closing in on a deal.”
