Search for Burglary Suspects Prompts Lockdown at New Town Elementary

UNION COUNTY, N.C.- Officials have arrested 28-year-old Anthony Lavell Fisher as one of the suspects in this home invasion on Billy Howey Road in Wesley Chapel.
Authorities are still looking for 20-year-old Quadarius Collin Mickerson as the second suspect in this case.
Officials say both men are from Charlotte.
Officers say Fisher and Mickerson fled the scene into the woods off Billy Howey Road, just south of Newtown.

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A local elementary school is on lockdown after criminal activity was reported in the area.
New Town Elementary in Waxhaw was scheduled to dismiss students at 2 p.m. on Friday but due to a burglary in a neighborhood close to the school, that dismissal has been delayed.
A spokesman with Union County Sheriff’s Office said two armed black males broke into a woman’s home and stole several items before leaving on foot. The woman barricaded herself inside a room and called 911.
Officials are currently searching along New Town Road and Billy Howey Road. Residents are asked to remain inside while the investigation continues.
