Police Make Arrest After Teen Shot In Carowinds Parking Lot
UPDATE: Police arrested 22-year-old Brock Bewley-Goodridge, of Charlotte, in connection to the shooting of a teenager in the parking lot of Carowinds.
FORT MILL, S.C. — Police say a fight is what led to a shooting in the bus parking lot of Carowinds Monday evening.
Investigators say a 14-year-old was shot twice in the abdomen after a fight broke out. The victim and several other people were leaving the park when the shooting occurred, according to police.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. The suspect allegedly pulled up in a blue to teal Dodge Magnum. He is described as a light skin black male with dreadlocks. No arrests have been made at this time.
Carowinds released the following statement:
At approximately 7:20 pm, Carowinds security officers reported a shooting in the bus parking lot outside of the park. We can confirm that a juvenile male has been transported for medical treatment. We are assisting both Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police and the York County Sheriff’s Office in this active investigation. There is no additional information available at this time.
