Police Investigating Gastonia Homicide

GASTONIA, NC — Police are investigating after a man was found dead inside his home Monday night.

Police were called to 1179 North Madena Street around 8:30pm for a shooting. When they arrived they found 47-year-old Steven Patterson dead from gunshot wounds.

Investigators say they are not looking for a suspect at this time because the shooting appears to have been the result of self-defense.
