Body Of Fallen Shelby Police Officer Escorted To Funeral Home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The body of fallen police officer Tim Brackeen was escorted from Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte to a funeral home in Shelby Tuesday morning.

Brackeen was shot over the weekend while trying to serve an outstanding warrant.  The suspected gunman is still on the run.  Police are searching for Irving Fenner, Jr.  A cash reward for his arrest and conviction is $25,000.

Brackeen was a 12-year veteran of the department.  He died from the injuries he sustained in the shooting Monday morning.

Funeral arrangements are still incomplete at this time.
