19-Year-Old Charged With Attempted Murder In Hickory

HICKORY, N.C. β A 19-year-old from Hickory is facing three counts of attempted murder in connection to Wednesday’s shooting that put a juvenile in the hospital.
Zamarion Calloway was charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of discharging a weapon into occupied property.
Police say Calloway shot into a vehicle, that was reported stolen earlier in the day, and injured one of three occupants.
The shooting occurred near South Center Street and 1st Avenue Southeast around 7:23 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31st.
The juvenile victim was flown to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He remains in the hospital but is in stable condition as of Friday, February 2nd.
Calloway is being held without bond.

HICKORY, N.C. β Hickory Police are investigating a shooting that landed a juvenile in the hospital on Wednesday.
Officers responded to reports of shooting on South Central Street and 1st Avenue Southeast around 7:30 p.m.
Upon arrival officers say officials with the Long view Police Department reported they were also investigating a shooting. Investigators determined the incidents were related and had originally occurred in the reported area in Hickory where shots were fired into a vehicle.
Reports say the victim then drove to hilltop apartment in Long View.
The juvenile was flown to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, no other injuries were reported.
No charges have been filed as of Thursday, February 1 and this investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hickory Police Department at 828-328-5551.
