Statesville Man Facing 12 Counts of Sexual Exploitation Of A Minor

STATESVILLE, N.C. – A Statesville man is facing 12 second-degree charges after allegedly uploading child sexual exploitation material.

William Curtis Powell faces 12 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Investigators started looking into this case on January 24th after receiving a cybertip of a Statesville man’s actions.

Police later identified Powell as the suspect.

Detectives conducted a search warrant at Powell’s home and discovered multiple external digital media storage devices containing child sexual exploitation files.

Authorities arrested Powell and placed him in the Iredell County Detention Center. He is being held on $250,000 bond.
