CMS Student Killed, Three Others Seriously Injured In Huntersville Crash

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – A CMS high school student died and three others were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries following a fatal car crash in Huntersville.

It happened around 9:32 p.m. on Friday night at the intersection of Hambright Road and Everette Keith Road. Huntersville Fire confirmed Saturday night that the subjects involved in the crash were four CMS students.

When police arrived, the vehicle was overturned and all four passengers were trapped inside. Everyone was extracted from the vehicle but one of the passengers was unconscious, according to a news release.

Officials performed life-saving measures but the individual was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The three other occupants were taken to local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Medic said one went to Novant Presbyterian, and the two others went to Atrium Carolina Medical Center.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
