Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Prepares For Midyear Graduation

CHARLOTTE, NC, – More than 1,100 students will don their caps and gowns and receive diplomas at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools midyear graduation. CMS officials sat they are extremely proud of our graduates and cannot wait to celebrate them at two ceremonies at Bojangles Coliseum, Thursday, February 8, 2024.

As prepare for the ceremony begins, there are a few changes to security policies to ensure the safest and most secure celebration possible, and to keep the focus on all of our deserving graduates. With that in mind, please note Bojangles Coliseum requests that the following items not be brought into the graduation venue:

• Flowers
• Duffel bags
• Fanny packs
• Backpacks
• Gifts
• Balloons
• Air horns
• Noisemakers

In addition to these prohibited items, we ask that attendees abide by the Coliseum’s new policy for bags. Non-clear bags must not exceed 4.5” x 6.5” in size, and clear bags may not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”. Anyone carrying bags larger than what is permitted will not be granted entry. Attached is a photo for reference, please check your bags before you arrive to ensure an efficient entry process.
