CALDWELL COUNTY β A Granite Falls man is dead after he was ejected from a vehicle during a crash on Thursday.
State Troopers responded to a crash on Burns Road near Oran Yount Lane. According to a news release, a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville was traveling west on Burns Road, drove off the right side of the road, struck an embankment, overturned, and came to rest on the driver’s side.
Troopers say the driver Stanley Burns, 64, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Burns was not restrained by a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
The preliminary investigation does not indicate alcohol or speed to be contributing factors in the collision.Β Β During the on-scene investigation, the roadway was partially closed in the area for approximately two hours.
