The allegations state that Porter, a convicted sex offender, coerced a minor to engage in a sexual conduct to produce child pornography of that conduct between May 28, 2023 and September 6, 2023. The indictment also alleges that Porter committed a felony criminal offense involving a minor while he was required by law to register as a sex offender.

Porter met the 16-year-old minor on an anonymous messaging app and drove from Oklahoma to Monroe, North Carolina to pick her up. She was reunited with her parents in October 2023.

Since Porter has a prior sexual abuse-related charge, each of the three counts of child pornography carries a minimum sentence of 30 years and a maximum sentence of 50 years, according to the Department of Justice.

The release further says that Porter is currently in state custody in Missouri and will be transported to North Carolina to appear in court.
