Columbia Man Charged For Making Bomb Threats

COLUMBIA, S.C. – A 33-year-old man in South Carolina is facing charges for allegedly making bomb threats in October of last year, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

Daquan Ricardo Johnson was charged last Friday with three counts of threatening to bomb personal property.

Johnson is accused of threatening to cause damage, injury or death via a destructive device. He allegedly said the following to a SLED agent on a phone call:

“I will be sending a bomb to blow up SLED.”

“I am going to blow up Wellpath.”

“Send a bomb to SLED and kill everybody.”

Authorities said Johnson made these threats on October 4th, 2023. Two days later, he admitted to making these threats.

Johnson has been taken to the Lexington County Detention Center. He will be prosecuted by the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
