Child In Critical Condition After Being Hit By Car In Boone

BOONE, N.C. – A child sustained life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Boone on Wednesday night.

It happened at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28th.

Police said a mother and a child were attempting to cross the street at Blowing Rock Road and Rivers Street. The two were subsequently hit by a vehicle.

The child was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital with life-threatening injuries and is in critical condition at this time, authorities said. Officials did not provide an update on the mother’s condition.

No charges have been filed in this case.

The collision is still under investigation.
