Seven Year Old Receives Life-Saving Transplant

DULUTH, M.N. – Seven-year-old Roya Snyder spent 53 days at the Mayo Clinic before she finally got some good news.

Snyder has cardiomyopathy, which means the heart wasn’t the right shape, didn’t pump correctly or didn’t empty blood fully.

She underwent a successful heart transplant surgery earlier this week. While the long-awaited day was one of relief, someone had to have their darkest.

A kid similar in age gave their heart to Snyder, something her parents can never express their thanks enough for.

The Snyder family has gone through some of the longest months of their lives, but they say what kept them going was the support from their community.
