CHARLOTTE, NC — One local Girl Scout is getting a game-changing experience by getting to go “All In With Cam Newton.”
A fourth grader and a five year member of the Girl Scouts Hornets’ Nest Council, Emerson Carter loves music and dreams of recording in Nashville, Tennessee. She is already a regular at Lake Norman area coffee houses where she performs both original and cover music, but on Friday, September 30th at 8pm she will be going national thanks to the Nickelodeon Channel and Panther’s Quarterback Cam Newton.
Emerson will be appearing on “All In With Cam Newton,” a series that Newton, and a roster of experts, uses to help push kids to fulfill their dreams and discover the hero within themselves.
Emerson applied for the opportunity after receiving an email through the Girl Scouts. “We were so shocked when we got the call that Emerson had been chosen for the show,” said Heather Carter, Emerson’s mom. “To be inspired by a leader like Cam and have this opportunity is truly game-changing for Emerson.”
Through help and support from the Girl Scouts, friends, family, and Cam Newton Emerson is on her way to achieving her dreams. The opportunity has even pushed Emerson to make a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to record an album which she is currently producing.
