Owner Cited After Mother & Children Attacked By Pit Bull’s Monday Morning

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD is investigating after a mother was bitten while being attacked by two Pit Bull mixes Monday morning in north Charlotte.

Officials with Animal Care & Control say the attack happened on Snow White Lane just before 8am. A mother and her children were outside their home when two dogs came running at them. The mom shielded her children and was bitten on the ankle and foot, according to reports. She was treated and released by Medic at the scene.

When police arrived the owner had secured the dogs in their vehicle. Investigators interviewed both the mother and the dog’s owner and determined only one dog was responsible for the bites. Both dogs where taken to theΒ  ACC shelter, and the one responsible for the biting is undergoing a 10 day rabies quarantine. Officials say neither dog had current rabies vaccinations or pet license.

According to a release, citations for leash law violation and unprovoked bite have been issued. The investigation is ongoing.
