MATTHEWS, N.C. – Interstate 485 has opened back up after a chemical spill shut down the outer loop in Matthews at East John Street.
Crews have been working to clean up the spill since just before 12:30 p.m. this afternoon.
The highway is still experiencing heavy traffic delays. People are asked to drive with caution near the area for the time being.
