Irving Fenner Jr. In Court

SHELBY, NC– The man charged with the murder of a Shelby police officer made his first court appearance in Cleveland County today.

Irving Fenner, Junior told the judge he has an attorney to represent him on all charges.

Fenner is accused of shooting officer Tim Brackeen last month while the officer tried to serve him an arrest warrant. Investigators tracked Fenner down in Rhode Island.

The District Attorney will seek the death penalty.
